Bekah Memorial Fund
Sweet Bekah entered this world as an orphan in China with congenital heart defects (CHD). She was known as a spunky, animated little girl who delighted her caregivers. She was adopted by her loving, forever family in 2013 and began to thrive and grow almost immediately. On August 14, 2014, Bekah went into surgery to address her CHD. Due to complications during her surgery, she never woke up.
Her life has had a tremendous impact on all those who encountered her in her short time on this earth, and her story continues to impact people around the world. For 10 years (2015-2025) a memorial 5k Watermelon Walk + Run + Roll was held in her honor, to remember and celebrate Bekah’s life. The 5k invited those in strollers, wheelchairs, walkers & other assistive devices to participate.
Bekah's 5k raised over $24,400 for Biblia Global during those year. 100% of this funding went to the printing of over 9,400 Bibles, both to Bekah's home country and other restricted countries. Considering 3-7 people may use each Bible, and 3-5 might accept Christ as a result of each Bible, many lives have been impacted by Bekah's life.
The Bekah Memorial Fund seeks to honor Bekah’s legacy by continuing to fund Bibles to those who are waiting for their own copy of God’s Word. Consider giving to this fund, enjoying some watermelon, and then walking, rolling, or running a 5k the first weekend of September (Bekah’s Birthday was in early September) in Bekah’s memory.
